Kırklareli University has been assigned by the Council Higher Education (Turkiye) as a Food Specialized University under the project of Mission Differentiation and Specialization Focused on Regional Development since it has a profound food engineering infrastructure and is founded on a region of promising food industry largely on dairy products. We also recently established the Food supply security and digitalization joint application and research center shortly GADOM. I am the director of GADOM.
GADOM is focus on digitalization on food value chain. In order to ensure that all people have continuous physical and economic access to sufficient, healthy, safe and nutritious food; produce local and national solutions, ensure the use of new technologies in agriculture, food and livestock, ensure effective and efficient use of resources in the field of food, ensure rural development and competitiveness in international markets, create innovative policies on food supply security. At our center, we carry out studies in the fields of informatics and electronics with approximately 8 core team members and more than 10 researchers. Our latest work is on smart system development with artificial intelligence, digital traceability systems, internet of things, digital twin and blockchain technologies.
The priority topics of research of the Joint Application and Research Center on Food Supply Safety and Digitalization are grouped under 4 headings: Digitalization, Data Science, Food Security and Food Safety, and Digital Interaction.
