We are a dedicated research team from Hacettepe University’s Department of Public Health, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Tülay Bağcı Bosi, an expert with over 40 years of experience in community nutrition, epidemiology, and sustainable dietary interventions. Prof. Bosi has a distinguished track record of collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Turkey's Ministry of Health on various national and international projects.
Our primary objective is to contribute to Topic 3: Empowering Sustainable Food Choices through the development of an innovative mobile application. This app aims to raise awareness about the environmental impact of food consumption and promote sustainable dietary behaviors.
Project Focus
The project is centered around the following goals:
Raising Awareness: Educating users about the environmental impact and carbon footprint of their food choices.
Promoting Sustainable Eating: Encouraging healthy and sustainable dietary behaviors among adults aged 18 and older who are capable of making informed food choices.
Interactive Tools: Providing features to help users track their food choices and better understand their ecological footprint.
By combining evidence-based knowledge with user engagement, the project seeks to bridge the gap between food awareness and sustainable actions, empowering individuals to make informed decisions that benefit both their health and the environment.
Type of Partners Needed
We are actively seeking international collaborators with expertise in the following areas:
Mobile App Development: Innovative digital solutions to enhance user experience.
Behavioral Sciences: Insights into consumer education and food sustainability.
Data Analysis: Expertise in public health research and monitoring food habits.
Policy Advocacy: Scaling sustainable food interventions at community and institutional levels.
Dietitians: Specialists in sustainable nutrition and dietary counseling.
Public Health Experts: Professionals with a focus on nutrition, sustainability, and community health.
We strongly believe that interdisciplinary partnerships, supported by dietitians and public health professionals, will drive meaningful dietary shifts and foster a positive environmental impact on a global scale.
