Local and organic farmers operating in the short-food supply chain have not yet incorporated the digital tools that will enable them to increase their competitiveness and efficiency. Moreover, farmers work in a very atomized ecosystem, which hinders their ability to scale and reach economies of scale.
Plant on Demand has software technology to help farmers sell collaboratively, helping local producers to join their produce, logistics and commercialization with each other around Food Hubs. It provides an all-in-one online platform to manage efficiently collaborative farmer's sales with tools like collaborative e-commerce space, traceability end-to-end, stock availability in real time, and automatic invoicing and payment transfer across client-food hub-farmer.
This tool has been applied in projects with schools, hospitals and canteens that organize the local produce and farmers in order to get supplies from those more sustainable and organic sources.
