Policies have been supporting the transition from conventional agriculture (CA) to agroforestry (AF) in the EU. However, key gaps remain in developing sustainable value chains, particularly in the marketing and labeling of AF products, which might enhance customers' sustainable food choices. We want to understand the potential role of agroforestry food labeling in shaping consumer food choices and in adding values to AF products in the EU.
We are interested in forming a consortium with other organizations that are interested in agroforestry food labeling and have expertise in at least one of the following areas: food labeling, consumer behavior, or agroforestry. Expertise in food labeling and consumer behavior is highly desirable.
We have not yet defined the lead and are open to different options.
We are also open to form a Consortium in Topic 1 or Topic 3 if you find our team's expertise relevant.
Our Horticultural Science Department at the University of Bonn, Germany, has expertise in:
- Agroforestry in the EU and Germany, including experience with EU Horizon project
- Food environment: We are currently having a project on this topic in Vietnam
- Innovation scaling and innovation systems
- Food systems mapping
