Topic 1: The way towards sustainable and resilient food systems
We want to collaborate with you! Are you interested in vegetable and potato processing? Do you want to choose the most optimal configuration of pilot equipment? Do you want to investigate novel technology, methods, sensors or study different food modifications (coating, battering, etc.), investigate new types of products, or are you interested in improving the sustainability of these processes?
Do not hesitate to contact us!
VEG-i-TEC is a living lab for vegetable and potato processing companies that want to innovate and optimize their production processes. Processes that were developed at laboratory level (by both companies and research groups) can be translated to a level that is representative for the vegetable and potato processing industry. The possibility is created to simulate processes up to the entire process line from vegetable and potato processing at pilot level. VEG-i-TEC will provide a flexible and dynamic space that will allow us and especially you to test equipment with applied research, to use it for training and demonstrations, and to present ourselves on a unique platform for the creation of new technology and innovations.
Our focus
We focus on: evaluating new technologies, improving vegetable and potato processing processes, water management (+ disinfection) and energy management, hygienic design, but always with the quality and chemical and microbiological safety for the consumer in mind. Current pilot infrastructure includes washing, cutting, peeling, blanching, drying, baking and freezing devices which are suitable for product loads of about 100 kg/h.
