We seek collaboration with partners interested in researching true pricing of beef consumption and shifting societies to plant-based alternatives. This project explores true pricing as a transformative tool to reduce beef consumption and promote a shift toward plant-based alternatives. By leveraging insights from systems change theory, social tipping points, and other interdisciplinary approaches, the project aims to develop actionable strategies, robust models and practical recommendations for policymakers, businesses, and consumers. We will seek synergistic effects between health and sustainability domains for the protein transition.
SEVEN is the new climate institute of the University of Amsterdam. We deploy this UvA-wide knowledge to combat climate change and make vulnerable societies, anywhere in the world, more resilient. Radical and transformative changes are needed to achieve the agreed climate goals. To contribute to this, we always adopt a system perspective and an inter- and transdisciplinary working method, bringing together all the knowledge and expertise available within the UvA. We have specialized knowledge in transition thinking as well as departments for advanced computational modelling that underpin these efforts.
