As a knowledge-based institution, we develop new knowledge for education and society as a whole. As part of this, lecturers, lecturing researchers and students conduct practice-based research for businesses, government agencies and civil society organisations. The results of this research are implemented into our curriculum. Knowledge valorisation is a key item on our agenda: we take care to ensure that our newly acquired knowledge is of public value.
We conduct research within a number of research groups. The majority of these are part of one of our centres of applied research. The Centre of Expertise Perspective in Health conducts research in co-creation with partners in health, care, and well-being, where the perspective of different types of people, different kinds of research, and the influence of the living environment are considered.
We investigate how to improve people's quality of life in their own environment in the Centre of Expertise Perspective in Health.
Our studies are geared towards the changes in healthcare and welfare that are currently taking place. We also focus on the drive towards a collective self-reliance by means of an integral and multidisciplinary approach that takes into account the aspects of lifestyle, prevention and the social environment. To this end, we make use of innovations in IT and healthcare technology.
The 4 research groups that make up this centre of expertise carry out research into quality of life, each from the perspective of a different life stage. We conduct our activities in partnership with healthcare authorities and providers, municipalities, provinces and other knowledge-based institutions.
