Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems
Innsomnia Accelerator, as specialist innovation consultancy offers Open Innovation processes for the solution of specific and technical-technological challenges in Agri-food. Including design, execution and compilation and analysis of results of these processes.
The challenge formulators can be the Partnership itself, a consortium of the Partnership, one member of the consortium or an agrupation of members. Calls can also be directed to students.
Scope of the challenges is to discover or develop innovative solutions to technical or technological issues that can arise for example during R&D activities or R&D projects implementation.
Open innovation processes include, although are not limited to: open challenges, hackathones and ideathones.
Basically, all these processes follow these steps:
- Analysis of needs.
- Definition of technical challenges to solve.
- Launch of a call for startups. Here we highlight our database of national and international startups (>6.000), from the Agri-foodsector and also from other sectors whose technologies can be translated to Agri-food.
- Scouting and selection of startups suitable for the solution of the challenges, alongside with the challenge formulators.
- Mentoring of the startups during the work on the challenges' solutions.
- Mentoring of the startups during the work on Proofs of Concept, in collaboration with the challenge formulators, in order to demonstrate viability of the developed solution to the technical challenge to solve.
