CarrefourSA is a food retail organisation developing and implementing digital and operational solutions focused on sustainability, circularity, food safety, and transparency, with a strong emphasis on real-life retail deployment.
Ongoing initiatives include AI-based decision support systems that analyse quality, freshness, and shelf availability in fruit and vegetable sections in real time, contributing to food waste reduction, improved shelf-life management, stock optimisation, and the transition towards more circular food systems.
In parallel, CarrefourSA operates advanced consumer feedback analytics solutions that integrate data from multiple digital channels, including mobile applications, call centres, social media, and customer feedback platforms. Using artificial intelligence and natural language processing, these systems generate insights related to consumer trust, satisfaction, and transparency, supporting more evidence-based communication and reliable sustainability practices.
Building on these ongoing projects, CarrefourSA seeks to participate as an industry and pilot partner in a consortium addressing Topics 2 and 3, contributing real-life retail environments, operational data, and validation capacity, without assuming a coordinator role.

Within this framework, CarrefourSA has established an R&D centre in Türkiye focusing on sustainable and circular food systems, food waste reduction, product quality and traceability, supply chain and logistics optimisation, energy efficiency, and next-generation digital retail technologies. Artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital decision-support systems form core components of its R&D activities, with solutions tested and validated under real retail operating conditions across Türkiye.
Leveraging its strong retail infrastructure throughout Türkiye, CarrefourSA enables the integration of R&D outputs into store operations, supply chains, and consumer touchpoints, and these capabilities are expected to contribute directly to the objectives of the FutureFoods initiative by supporting the transition towards more sustainable, circular, and trustworthy food systems.
