Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems
I am interested in joining an international consortium under the FutureFoodS Call 2, specifically within the topic Towards diverse, sustainable, and circular food processing systems.
My cooperation interest focuses on research and innovation activities related to sustainable and circular food processing, including the valorisation of food and food-processing wastes for high value-added applications such as nanomaterial production. I am also interested in the assessment of environmental contamination (e.g. heavy metal pollution) originating from food processing activities, particularly in olive-growing regions and around olive oil production facilities. In addition, I aim to contribute to the development of sensitive and rapid techniques for food quality control and their applicability for traceability purposes, as well as regional and country-level monitoring and detection of adulteration in vegetable oils.
I can contribute to projects through data-driven approaches, including machine learning, image-based analysis and visual/acoustic signal processing, supporting experimental studies, data analysis, method development and validation within a transnational consortium.
