Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems
I am interested in joining an international consortium as a partner under the FutureFoodS Call 2, within the topic Towards diverse, sustainable, and circular food processing systems.
I am open to contributing to existing or emerging project ideas related to sustainable food processing and circular economy, including the valorisation of food and food-processing wastes for high value-added applications (e.g. nanomaterial production). My interests also include the assessment of environmental contamination associated with food processing activities, such as heavy metal pollution, particularly in olive-growing regions and around olive oil production facilities. In addition, I aim to contribute to the development of sensitive and rapid techniques for food quality control, their use in traceability applications, and the monitoring and detection of vegetable oil adulteration at regional and national levels.
My contribution to consortia focuses on data-driven methodologies, including machine learning, image-based analysis and visual/acoustic signal processing, supporting experimental studies, data analysis, method development and validation across work packages.
