Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems
We are seeking to join a consortium for Topic 2. Our expertise is in retrofit, AI-powered condition monitoring and predictive maintenance for food processing equipment. Our solutions are easy to integrate and focus on energy efficiency, process optimization, and reduction of downtime and waste. We use advanced sensor technologies and embedded AI to enable real-time monitoring and support resource-efficient and sustainable food production.
We are interested in collaborative projects to further develop our solutions with the aim of advancing the adaptability of the solutions to other equipment, optimizing energy and resource use, and enhancing the overall sustainability of food processing systems. Other contributions related to sensors and AI are also possible, of course.
At Fraunhofer IMS, we specialize in cutting-edge research and development, focusing on high-performance sensors and AI. Our goal is to apply this expertise to the agri-food sector at every stage, from farm to fork.
We have successfully secured funding for a GEH project in the 2nd call (FarmScan), in which we will enable remote field analysis via biodegradable soil sensors and provide farmers with AI-based decision support.
