In this framework, AMAL’s participation is considered fundamental due to its proven expertise in:

Furthermore, AMAL’s commitment to these themes is evidenced by its leadership in various ongoing projects, including Sustainable Food Systems, REVITALGARVE, Agro + Eficiente, and the 'Brigada dos 10' (focused on the 10 principles of the Mediterranean Diet). These initiatives underscore the association’s proactive interest and specialized focus on these critical regional issues.
AMAL is a public legal entity of an associative nature, formed by the 16 Municipalities of the Algarve - Albufeira, Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Monchique, Olhão, Portimão, S. Brás de Alportel, Silves, Tavira, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António. AMAL's mission is to promote the development of the municipalities and strengthen the identity of the Region, through the articulation of interests and the creation of synergies, and its strategic objectives are to develop and promote the region, strengthen the capacity to respond to the common needs of its members, and increase social cohesion.
