SanaTerra – One Health & Microbiome Living Lab (Spain) is interested in joining FutureFoodS Call 2 Full Proposal consortia as an additional partner under the Widening participation scheme.
We offer a unique combination of technological expertise, real-life demonstration infrastructure, and multi-actor engagement capacities to strengthen proposals under Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems.
Our main areas of contribution include:
Microbiome-driven food innovation and functional fermented foods.
Development and validation of probiotic and prebiotic food formulations.
Fermentation technologies for improved food quality, safety, and functionality.
Valorisation of food-processing by-products within circular food systems.
AI-supported optimisation of food formulations and processing performance.
Consumer testing, co-creation, and market validation in rural and regional contexts.
Living Lab methodologies and multi-actor stakeholder engagement.
SanaTerra operates an integrated Living Lab in rural Extremadura, including an operational farm, food processing facilities, laboratory, training centre, and community innovation hub. We can provide pilot and demonstration sites for testing and scaling sustainable food-processing solutions under real-world conditions.
Our network connects farmers, SMEs, researchers, NGOs, health professionals, and public authorities, facilitating effective collaboration and socio-economic uptake of innovations.
We are particularly interested in collaborating with coordinators seeking to strengthen their proposals through additional expertise in circular food processing, fermentation, microbiome innovation, Living Lab implementation, stakeholder engagement, and rural demonstration activities.
