Topic 3: Importance of trust and transparency
We can contribute expertise in GIS, remote sensing, GeoAI, spatial analysis, environmental modelling and digital platforms to support trusted, transparent and sustainable food value chains. Our contributions can include geospatial analysis of product origin and supply-chain information, particularly for seafood and aquaculture; mapping and assessment of environmental impacts and contamination risks; analysis of water quality and resource efficiency; and the integration of environmental and operational data. We can also develop interactive maps, dashboards and web-based decision-support tools to communicate sustainability information and support evidence-based decisions.
We are interested in joining a transnational consortium as a partner leading or co-leading a work package on geospatial analysis, digital tools or environmental sustainability assessment. While particularly interested in trusted and transparent food value chains, we are open to other FutureFoodS topics where our expertise in spatial analysis, environmental monitoring, digital technologies and data-driven decision support can add value. We welcome collaboration with research institutions, universities, industry partners and consortia working across sustainable food systems.
The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) is Norway's premier research institute in the fields of water and the environment. We are experts on ecosystems in both freshwater and marine environments, from mountains, via lakes and rivers, to fjords, coasts and oceans. We develop science-based knowledge and solutions to challenges related to the interaction between water and climate, the environment, nature, people, resources and society.
