Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems
POSAMAS is seeking cooperation with European research institutions, SMEs, industry partners, and public actors to develop and scale circular, bio-based, and sustainable food processing solutions. Our interest focuses on side-stream valorisation, bioactive ingredient development, novel extraction methods, and territorial circularity models linking soil–vineyard–food systems. We bring technical expertise in phenolic extraction, natural antioxidant systems, double-emulsion technologies, and upcycled ingredient formulation. We look to join consortia aiming to
(1) transform agro-food side-streams into high-value applications,
(2) design transparent and trusted sustainability frameworks, or
(3) promote sustainable dietary transitions supported by science-based communication.
We are particularly motivated to collaborate within living labs, demonstrator environments, and cross-regional circular economy ecosystems to create scalable, evidence-based solutions aligned with the FutureFoodS SRIA and EU Green Deal goals.
Founded in 2024 in Ankara, Türkiye, POSAMAS is a circular bioeconomy start-up dedicated to transforming wine-making side-streams—particularly Kalecik Karası grape pomace—into high-value bioactive ingredients for food, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and soil-health applications. Established within a university-based technology center, POSAMAS integrates scientific research, sustainable processing technologies, and territorial resource management to reduce agricultural waste and create new value chains.
Our core competencies include phenolic extraction, ultrasonic and eco-friendly processing, double-emulsion techniques, freeze- and spray-drying, and the development of natural antioxidant systems that can replace synthetic additives. POSAMAS operates with a soil–vineyard–people loop approach, ensuring that by-products are not only valorised into premium extracts and powders, but also partially returned to the land as natural soil inputs, contributing to regenerative agriculture.
The company collaborates with food engineering, pharmacy, and biotechnology experts, local vineyard cooperatives, R&D laboratories, and regional sustainability stakeholders. POSAMAS is actively involved in international innovation ecosystems such as EIT Food Inspire & EWA, and pursues partnerships for scaling circular economy solutions, developing living-lab demonstrators, and integrating sustainable ingredients into European value chains.
Our mission is to create science-backed, environmentally responsible, and socially inclusive bio-based solutions, aligning fully with the European Green Deal, EU Circular Economy priorities, and the FutureFoodS Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda.
