Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems
I am interested in joining a consortium under Topic 2, contributing expertise in AI/ML, large language models, multimodal data integration, and bio-based systems modelling.
I can contribute to tasks involving advanced AI modelling for bioactive compound discovery, bioprocess and fermentation optimisation, and data-driven decision support in sustainable and circular food processing systems. I have an educational background in food science and engineering, combined with research experience in AI, which enables me to understand both the technical demands of AI methods and the practical constraints of real-world food and bio-based processing scenarios.
My current research focuses on applying AI to food engineering, with particular interests in using large language models (LLMs) for bioactive compound discovery and predictive biomanufacturing. More broadly, I work in AI for Science (AI4Science) and actively seek collaborations that bridge AI with wet-lab research in food chemistry, nutritional science, food microbiology, and biochemistry to accelerate scientific discovery.
