Topic 1: Domestic food practices for enhancing sustainable and healthy diets
Role in the consortium: UNIPA would contribute as an academic research partner, supporting
study design, development of nutrition- and behaviour-focused tools, household-level
interventions, pilot implementation, and evaluation. UNIPA would also contribute to education
and training activities, dissemination, and scientific reporting.
UNIPA’s expertise strongly aligns with HEAT-SAFE through its focus on nutrition, food safety,
and behaviour-driven household practices. The team can support the design and validation of
educational tools addressing cooking practices, dietary quality, risk perception, and behaviour
change, as well as contribute to pilot evaluation and dissemination. UNIPA also aligns closely
with H-SEBCIP, contributing expertise in nutrition, sustainability, family behaviour, and
education. The team can support the development of household-level educational modules,
behaviour-change strategies, and evaluation of sustainability-related dietary and lifestyle
indicators.
The University of Palermo (UNIPA) is a public Italian university with strong
