Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems
We are interested in starting a project focused on the sustainable valorisation of food‑processing side streams and the development of innovative food ingredients using extrusion technology. We are looking for research and industry partners who are eligible for topic 2 and project type "Accelerating innovation" and are interested in contributing expertise in different areas, such as extrusion technology, process development, consumer studies, sustainability and LCA, ...

The Institute for Food and Environmental Research is a non-profit research institute in north-eastern Germany. We combine the expertise of food technologists, chemists and food chemists, biologists, microbiologists and biochemists and have many years of experience in biotechnology, food and environmental research.
We develop new solutions in food technology and, in doing so, cover the areas of product development and manufacture. We evaluate and optimize raw materials, as well as processing them by extracting, grinding, extruding and baking. The end result is a new product, including an analysis of the nutrients it contains.
