Topic 1: The way towards sustainable and resilient food systems
CICERO Center for International Climate Research is interested to contribute to consortia aiming for Topic 1 (the way towards sustainable and resilient food systems) and Topic 3 (Empowering sustainable food choices - enabling environments and dietary shifts).
We have a broad collection of researchers and disciplines covering (local to regional and global) aspects of food system emissions - transitions - barriers and enabling measures - and the interaction of food-climate-sustainability with health, environment, and other sectors in terms of trade-offs.
We can offer a case study on Norway, and contributions to EU level analyses on system understanding (here: post-production to consumer and policy behaviour, barriers and potentials, incl. public procurement), socio-economic analyses, linkages to climate change and extreme events (modeling), dietary choices and climate-environment-(health) impact data, and communication and outreach expertise. CICERO also has ties to Food system networks as entry point into local to global policy.

CICERO is internationally recognised for its research on the climate effects of anthropogenic emissions, society’s response to climate change, and the formulation of international agreements. We have played an active role in the IPCC since 1992.
CICERO has a national role in promoting knowledge about climate change and is internationally recognized as a driving force for innovative climate communication. We are in constant dialogue about the responses to climate change with public and private decision makers, government administration and civil society. To ensure impact and support communication, CICERO has a dedicated team with extensive experience in coordinating the dissemination and communication efforts of large-scale international projects, e.g. HYway (HEuropa), CRiceS (HEuropa) EXHAUSTION (H2020), ENBEL (H2020), SMART (H2020) CONSEED (H2020)
