This offered project aims to increase the role of lesser-known and undervalued species in food systems and thus reduce the carbon footprint, with the aim of "Strengthening sustainable food preferences - Ensuring food environments and nutritional changes" under the 3rd topic of the FutureFoods program. Within the scope of the project, research will be conducted on the nutritional values, cultural importance and sustainable production methods of these species found in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. In line with the findings obtained, various communication strategies will be developed to raise awareness among consumers about these species and encourage consumption. The project will also provide recommendations for policies and regulations regarding the production and consumption of these species.

It is the first University in Kahramanmaraş and currently has over 2 thousand employees and over 30 thousand students. Kahramanmaraş is one of the provinces located in the Mediterranean and has more plant diversity than Great Britain.
